Bob Dylan, today announced he has signed a deal with Universal Music Publishing Group to sell his songwriting catalog for an estimated $300 million,The New York Times reported. Dylan’s music includes classics like “Blowin’ in the Wind,” “The Times They Are A-Changin’” and “Like a Rolling Stone.”
Shakira becomes latest artist to sell rights to catalogue of hits. Colombian singer-songwriter sells rights to her 145-song catalogue for undisclosed sum.

“Myspace accidentally lost all the music uploaded from its first 12 years in a server migration, losing over 50 million songs from 14 million artists,” he tweeted. “I'm deeply skeptical this was an accident. Flagrant incompetence may be bad PR, but it still sounds better than ‘we can't be bothered with the effort and cost of migrating and hosting 50 million old MP3s.’
